Ten years of marriage . . . never thought that would happen!
We went with Tom and Mary to Jersey Boys for our anniversary. Stopped at Bravo for a wonderful meal and enjoyed the program! I still can't believe that I have been married to a really nice man for ten, count them, ten years. It has gone so fast. I remember thinking what would it be like to be married that long on our wedding day as it was something I couldn't fathom. And here it is, . . . one child, twenty-two years teaching, and working on a masters degree, which is getting close to being completed. I need to pinch myself sometimes at how blessed I really am!
Zane is really growing fast. I really wish he would enjoy reading as much as he enjoys putting together legos and technic legos and k'nex. Someday he might get a teacher that challenges him in this area. He has had some great teachers who really have done wonders with him, but he needs someone to turn on the switch. School starts in a week and a half, with so much to do and not enough time to do it in. We already paid his school fees and found out his teacher's name at East. I really hope the redistricting will be OK.
August has flown by and we get one more week with Moxie. I need to go pick her up on Sunday afternoon and Christina is going to bring Keith and Marites with children up next Saturday afternoon to pick her up and go swimmming! I have an inservice on Monday, Zane has his physical Monday, Wednesday is an hour training on PowerSchool, Friday my last paper is due and Saturday, my capstone entry is due with the final paper uploaded. School starts on the following Monday for teachers and I might have jury duty on Tuesday, and finally school for kids starts Wednesday and we are OFF!

Half way there . . .
Can't believe how fast time flies-July 4th on Monday!
Will be halfway through my KSU degree program after tomorrow's deadlines for the last two assignments are completed. The end is in sight and the light is shining. It has been a wonderful and overwhelming year with one more to go. I have learned so much and am looking forward to the other classes ahead, even though I am so tired of this computer.
Having high school friends over with some families. I hope it goes well and isn't raining as the weather certainly isn't looking perfect. It will be nice to see them and hopefully play some euchre-which I haven't played in eons. Supposed to be good weather so the kids will use the pool!
Need to clean desperately so many things. I told Darin the main project would be the basement and now that we can see the floors or much more important the counters, the basement is going to get started next week. Good luck with that:)

Two more days!
Good golly! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. When I read through the last post, it was February. Now June, the weather is finally cooperating. April and May were some of the coldest and very wet spring months ever! Planting didn't start until May 20th and we finished June 6th. The guys were working twenty hour days for a week and then it rained and was cold some more. Darin is still spraying, but at least the planting is done. Sweet corn is around the perimeter of our house with field corn in the actual fields around the houses this year. PRIVACY!
The masters courses are going fairly well and this time next year I should be completely done and graduated with a degree. I have learned so much and I truly think that this was the right school for me at the right time with the right online program. It has me invigorated, excited, and enthused about teaching music in the future. I am hoping to incorporate alot of the information, especially from these last few classes.
Zane and the cousins are really going to East next year. I am not happy about it, but am glad that I know some of the teachers that will look out for him. Connie will need to take care of things as it takes too long for me to go there from West or North. We have tried to present things in a good light and hopefully all will go well for the next school year. I will truly miss having Zane, Grant, and Brooke at North. However, I always said if I wanted to teach my own child, I would have homeschooled, so in that aspect I am glad that it won't happen. Zane should be OK, it just might take some time. We will see.
Looking forward to the summer to have time to adequately get started on the capstone project and work on the annotated bibliography for this current class. I am really far behind on that especially, although I do have some of the information.
Still need to do grades today and get my purchase orders completed before Tuesday!!

H-E-double toothpicks!
Even though it has been FRIDGID outside with temperatures of 0, it has been a week under pressure! It seems like everything is going down the drain, for everyone. Almost bad news, becomes worse news, which then becomes unbearable. It isn't just one person I know but several, including in my own family.
I have to be careful what I say about Kasich as Darin's family is rather protective. The man is a moron and even if he actually does balance the state of Ohio's finances, he is going to run the rest of us out of the state, a job, or both. I am nervous about my teaching career especially when I have started on my masters, but it will be what it will be.
On a positive note, Darin, Mary and Tom, and myself, are going out to eat at White Castle in Westerville for Valentine's Day. I made the reservations for four and we were the last folks to make it at that location. I found out that they have hired a piano player to play live music there and it usually is a full house. I am looking forward to it, although surprisingly, Darin is shocked that I would want to go to White Castle on Valentine's Day. I thought it would be a nice way to visit with Tom and Mary and enjoy a "cheap" meal. Plus, we all like the menu. I am hoping Darin will have a good time regardless:)
Just a note about Elsie. Janice called and said Elsie had a stroke on Monday and that they have been up here since Tuesday helping Elsie recover and be advocates for her at the hospital. She is at Mt. Carmel East, which is where Dad usually goes, and they seem to like it. Elsie appears to be recovering nicely and is going to the same rehab that Edna is at in Canal. They are going to get her settled in tomorrow and then plan on coming up one weekend a month from now on. Bob also came in from CA. Dennis and Janice are leaving on Monday, but Cathy will be coming up next weekend by herself to see Elsie.

Music analysis . . . or psycho analysis?
This class is going to kill me. It is so far above me and the things that I use with my teaching. BrianH, thankfully, is tutoring/coaching me. We met yesterday and he went over some of my harmonic progressions and form analysis just so I could check where I was and if I was heading in the right direction. I believe it truly helped, although I don't know what I received on my test from last night. We will see if I moved up at all:)
It also helped to sign onto WIMBA and meet during the professor's office hours. I had difficulties and telephoned in first, but someone said to bypass the set up wizard and they were right! I was able to enter the room and use the headset and ask him questions and listen to others questions. He also headed us on the right direction for the scores and helped with some questions that may or may not be on the test. I really feel like I might have recevied a decent grade.
Zane is pushing buttons left and right. He wouldn't eat his corn last night, so he lost ice cream priviledges for a week. That means until next Sunday, January 30th! Maybe it will sink in about eating vegetables and that they are different than fruit. We have to start getting him to eat less sweets anyway, so this is a good start even if it was a "punishment."
We started back with his tutor and I am so thankful. Darin and I just don't see eye to eye on his education and having Zane see a tutor has really helped, not just my sanity, but his retention as he is doing academically better. Grades go out next week and I am hoping they are better. His teacher is taking him to the IAT meeting either this week or next and I am curious about their recommendations.
Darin goes Thursday for his carpal tunnel surgery. I will need to take a half day and since we had a day off for snow, it works out great as I won't miss any of the classes I need to teach for the concerts in March! Just need to remember to put in the paperwork and I MUST FINISH GRADE CARDS TODAY so I have time to study for next week's test and essay!
I also need to exercise and clean the house so it is somewhat presentable!
