Fourth of July festivities!

Zane was sooooo excited that Darin agreed to take the 530 in the Delaware 4th of July parade this year! They welded an attachment so it could carry the American flag and even though it was hot, hot, hot, they managed just fine.  Quite a day, since Zane about took out Uncle Brian's garage when he drove it over to their house to use the *special wax* that Uncle Brian uses on the Thunderbird!


 

Soon, oh so soon . . .

Couldn't resist this picture of the waves in CA.  Not going there, but soon, someday soon, we will be at the beach!  I can only hope it is as beautiful as this (photo by Sean Hunter Brown):

Transit of Venus 2012

Although I don't have the scientific skills or equipment, with the internet you can still get to view things that are out of your reach.  I am thankful to see this, even though it wasn't in person.  Considering that the next time this event will occur is in 2117, even my son will not have the opportunity, but perhaps if I am lucky, my grandchildren will.  I also appreciate that it was set to music!

The end is near!

Yes, another school year is drawing to a close!  It is difficult to believe how fast time flies sometimes, but it truly seems like only yesterday we were starting a new school year.  And August will be here before we know it.  This will be a hectic week-grades are due Tuesday, talent show, recognitions, packing up at Radnor, getting all the little duckies in a row for the summer.  The best news is that I don't have to move rooms, just get all my stuff out of the other side of the portable so the art teacher can move in August after the levy results.

Looking forward to graduation parties, including my own, vacation, and lots of camps for the boy.  He is excited to be going, so that helps and we almost have everything ready for these excursions.  The PURGE will begin after school lets out and most likely start when he is at basketball camp.  Hope to get a lot done when he is elsewhere.

So much to do and so little time, but each day holds a new promise:)

As a fan of this show, I have enjoyed the variety of opening sequences that they have used to lay the foundation of that particular week's show.  It is part fantasy, science fiction, and fairy tale all rolled up into one.  Looking forward to the next season.

Mother's Day 2012 (or the up and downs of motherhood)

It has been an up and down day.  Down, because Darin and Zane went and got Carolyn a hedge trimmer (without letting me know as I already had a small gift purchased for her), but up, because I had a wonderful time at the buffet that Gary provided at a local Asian restaurant and the lovely trio of hanging baskets that are hung on the truck garage.  We were able to spend more time at Pam and Jim's visiting with Jay, Ri, Ed and Paula, and the rest of the family before they left town.  A truly glorious day in so many ways.  Plus, I am almost done writing thank you notes for graduation.

Only eighteen more days until school is out for the summer and there is so much still to be done.  I think I need to make a list or something, so I can get my bearings. It should probably be two lists, as the things that need to be done for work are different than the things that need to be done at home.  Plus, there is still just the general cleaning and picking up of stuff that has been put on the back burner for so long that now needs to be done now-like get the curtains dry cleaned!  At least the carpets are in fairly good shape so far.  The NKF is coming on Tuesday for donations which will help get rid of some of the things that have seen their prime. 

KSU Graduation 2012

It has been twenty months, (almost two school years and one summer), but I have completed my master of music education degree.  Commencement was held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the MAC Center.  I was graciously accompanied by my husband, son, parents-in-law, aunt-in-law, father, my own aunt and uncle, and a childhood friend that flew all the way from Colorado.  I know I had friends and family who were wishing they could be there, but due to circumstances beyond their control, were only there in spirit.  I am so glad that I attended graduation and had the privilege to actually meet in person my fellow classmates that I had only previously met online.  All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better program or timeline.  All was as it should have been.  Everything worked out so well and I am so happy and yet so sad that it is finished.  It truly is a wonderful world!  I am so grateful to all who supported me in so many different ways.  Life is not a journey without the others we share it with each step of the way.  Many thanks to all!
