In tribute to Six, my double poly dactyl torti cat

Six was a wonderful cat.  She showed up on the driveway to welcome me home from my honeymoon.    She appeared to be in good health, spayed, and would follow me around when I was outside, and in the last few years, inside as well.  Six would catch mice and birds when she was younger and was never sick until the last couple of years.  While I wasn't particularly thrilled with her coloring, her personality and independence won me over.  I usually had solid colored cats, but here she was with all these different colored swirls and patterns.  Her vet was always amazed by her lack of temper, as she never bit or scratched, and hardly ever meowed.  A very docile cat, Six provided me with many years of companionship.  All she wanted was to be cared for (food, water, love, and shelter) and in return, Six would purr in contentment.  She was pretty good with kids as long as they didn't push her buttons and were gentle.  She would stand at the door to be let out or would come and find me and walk with me to the door so I knew she wanted outside.  I am glad that I stayed with her at the end as she deserved the same love and consideration she had given me over her good, long life.  I loved her very much and will miss her.
